I’ve been a commercial freelance writer and resume writer for a long while and I love what I do.  Whether I’m writing a resume or CV for a professional or crafting a business plan for an entrepreneur, my goal is to provide flawless content that sizzles.

It’s all about good writing, having a business acumen that connects with the client and drawing on knowledge honed from a diverse background in business and publishing.

My specialties include resume writing, ghostwriting, essay reviews, proofreading and editing, or crafting a focused business plan.  I work with my clients until they are ecstatic about their materials!  Usually that’s within the first draft

I’ve been published in the Job Journal, Restaurateur of Sacramento, Western Horseman, Equestrian Connection and California Horse Review.  As a horse enthusiast, I partnered with the California Department of Parks and Recreation to write public relations pieces and with the California Department of Motor Vehicles to write career advancement criteria.

One of my greatest joys was partnering with a graphic artist to design and write a brochure for a non-profit organization serving those in need.  After using it their business began to thrive.

I’ve been interviewed by local television stations  at local job expos giving job searchers resume writing tips and advice for their career search.

While in Corporate America, I wrote, edited and published training materials for Customer Service.  Within six months the team won the J.D. Power Award for Excellence in Customer Service and maintained it for three consecutive years.   HR adopted my booklet, “How to Write Effective Resumes,” during a series of downsizing mergers.   Later, I facilitated  resume writing workshops for in-house career advancement and became the in-house resume writing subject-matter-expert.   Other departments had me author procedure manuals and equipment processing manuals for training purposes.

I earned a Bachelor of Arts in journalism and photojournalism from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and pursued a Masters in business management, entrepreneurship and innovation from Strayer University.  I’m honored to have studied under Bud Gardner in his “Writing for Publication” class at American River College.  I live in Northern California with four cats and care for an aging Morgan horse that has been a close confidant for over 20 years.
